The primary purpose of this position is to provide packing and repacking support in the preparation of items and equipment for storage and shipment via various modes of transportation.
- - Performs a wide variety of standard and specialized preservations and/or packing and repacking work. Uses various protective/cushioning techniques for custom packing of a variety of items including hazardous materials to ensure safe and damage free movement. - Packs and accomplishes certification of all types of hazardous, sensitive and classified cargo in accordance with federal regulations. - Uses and maintains various types of equipment, such as packaging and preservations equipment, heat sealers, shrink wrapper, and stapling machine. - Performs duties and operates equipment in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations. - Operates one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered forklift trucks which are capable of lifting loads of up to 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches o facilitate loading and unloading duties.
