Liz and Dick Uihlein started Uline out of their basement in 1980, selling shipping supplies to nearby businesses; the H-101 carton sizer they began with is still in the catalog. The company distributes shipping, packaging, and industrial supplies across North America, and the range has widened since into retail, safety, and material handling. More than 9,000 people work for it across North America, in distribution centers near Chicago, Minneapolis, Allentown, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, Reno, Miami, Columbus, and Boston, plus Mexicali and Monterrey in Mexico and sites near Toronto and Edmonton.
